Charter School Kids’ First Public Art Piece

Ventura Charter School students painted two banners as practice for more public art projects still to come at the WAV in the Fall. Students came to the WAV on May 29th to paint, stuff bottle bricks, and refine a design for a tile bench in the WAV Garden Courtyard. The banner’s purpose is to share thoughtful ideas to the public. They will hang for the entire month of June in the “Soon to be Summer” exhibit at the WAV Theater Gallery. The exhibit is curated by WAV Photographer Jessica Lindley.

WAV artists presently participating in the WAV public art projects and collaborating with the Ventura Charter School students are; Catlin Blair-Harvey, CarolAnn Swangler, Nash Rightmer, Michele Foster and Sarah Kalvin. WAV Public Art Project created by WAV Property Manager L. Gregory.
