The WAV enjoyed a new expansion of ArtWalk with Garden St. turning into an EcoFest for the weekend. The Ventura Auto Center generously donated funds to the Ventura ArtWalk, and the City of Ventura made possible the closure of the street for the event.
WAV artists and residents pulled together as a community to make the weekend unique. WAV studios were open to the public, guest artists put up popup tents on the street to show their talents, and music from the City’s stage wafted through the air all day with jazz and other forms of creativity. In the Theater Gallery a master weaver exhibited, and large environmental photos were displayed in the courtyard adjacent to the Beer Garden shaded by a huge umbrella donated for the weekend by the Ventura County Fair. It was truly a community effort that brought the WAV into the spotlight as a genuine player in Ventura’s art scene.
